Virtual Tour of the Center

Living Room: Equipped with comfortable furniture, a big-screen television, VCR, and DVD player, the living room is the perfect spot to hold meetings, programs, receptions, or any other small campus event. This room can comfortably seat up to 30 people and can be arranged in group discussion style or theatre style.

Conference Room: This cozy room is located off the living room, is a great spot for group studies or small meetings. This also serves as a buffet room for major events at the Women's Center.

Family Resource Room: This is a great place for parents to bring their children for play/relaxation time while on campus. The room includes toys, art supplies, books, and literacy kits for all ages. Brightly painted and with a distinct family theme, all decorations are on a child's eye level. THe room can also be used as a lactation station for nursing mothers. The Family Resource Room is a result of collaboration between the Women's Center and the LSU Child Care Center.

Library: If you look for a book in the Middleton Library, you may be surprised to find that the resource you need is housed in the Women's Center. The Center has its own library that operates through the university library system. The Center possesses a wide variety of both fiction and non-fiction publications as well as a wide selection of movies available for rental. The library also has two computers that can be used for research, projects, and surfing the internet.

Student Organization Room: If you travel to the end of the hall, you will find the Student Organization Room. When the Women's Center moved to the Helen Carter House in 2001, student organizations involved in the process were given this space to store materials and maintain small libraries. The room provides a central location from which students can get their materials quickly for campus events. The following organizations currently make use of the room: Women Organizing Women, VOX, WGSGO, Spectrum, ECO, and College Democrats.

Brochures and Information: The Women's Center has a wide variety of campus and community brochures and publications available for pickup or reading at the Center. The Center also maintains an online Resource Directory, which contains up-to-date information on campus, local, state, and national resources in almost two dozen topic areas.

Front Lawn: The Women's Center lets the use of its front lawn for Tailgating and other events for the campus community. You may also utilize our benches as a place to hang out on our front lawn.
