Virtual Tour of the Center

Living Room: Equipped with comfortable furniture, a big-screen television, VCR, and DVD player, the living room is the perfect spot to hold meetings, programs, receptions, or any other small campus event. Come by the Center today or call in order to reserve this space for your next event.

Sun Room: This cozy little resting place, located off the living room, is a great spot to study, relax, read a book, or just hang out with friends. The many windows, plush furniture, and intimate atmosphere make this room a favorite spot for students who want a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere to rest and study between classes.

Family Resource Room: This is a great place for parents to bring their children for play/relaxation time while on campus. The room includes toys, art supplies, books, and literacy kits for all ages, as well as a computer equipped with educational games and activities. Brightly painted and with a distinct family theme, all decorations are on a child's eye level. The Family Resource Room is a result of collaboration between the Women's Center and the LSU Child Care Center. Click here for more information.

Library: If you look for a book in Middleton Library, you may be surprised to find that the resource you need is housed in the Women's Center. The Center has its own library that operates through the university library system. The Center possesses a wide variety of both fiction and non-fiction publications. The library also has two computers that can be used for research, projects, and surfing the internet.

Student Organization Room: If you travel to the end of the hall, you will find the Student Organization Room. When the Women's Center moved to the Helen Carter House in 2001, student organizations involved in the process were given this space to store materials and maintain small libraries. The room provides a central location from which students can get their materials quickly for campus events. The following organizations currently make use of the room: CANoLA, College Democrats, Green Party, Sigma Tau Delta, Spectrum Alliance, Vegetarian Society, Women Organizing Women

Brochures and Information: The Women's Center has a wide variety of campus and community brochures and publications available for pickup or reading at the Center. The Center also maintains an online Resource Directory, which contains up-to-date information on campus, local, state, and national resources in almost two dozen topic areas.

Reservations: The living room, sunroom, and student organization room can be reserved by LSU departments and student organizations, as well as community groups. All reservations must be made using the official Women's Center Reservation Request Form. Please review the Women’s Center Reservation Guidelines and Rental Fees to learn more about the stipulations for Center rentals; the reservation is not confirmed until the event contact person receives an e-mail from the Women's Center.
